2016 November Unemployment Rates Lower than Previous Years, Dec. 21

Coos County’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate declined in November to 6.7 percent from a revised 7.1 percent in October. The rate is 0.6 percentage point below the November 2015 rate (7.3%).  The last time a November rate was this low was in 2006 (6.6%).  Oregon’s seasonally adjusted November unemployment rate was 5.0 percent; the national rate was 4.6 percent. The county’s total payroll employment declined over the month by 60 jobs.  Curry County’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate declined in November to 7.2 percent from a revised 7.5 percent in October. The rate is 1.0 percentage point below the November 2015 rate (8.2%).  The last time a November rate was this low was in 2007 (6.5%). The county’s total payroll employment declined over the month by 160 jobs.
