ODFW release – The Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission finalized the 2023 recreational Pacific halibut seasons this afternoon, adopting the staff recommended season dates. Central Oregon Coast Subarea (Cape Falcon to Humbug Mountain): Spring All-Depth Season: Quota = 173,385 lbs. Open Monday, May 1 through Friday, June 30, seven days per week. Available back-up dates (if quota remaining): July 13-15 and July 20-22. Summer All-Depth Season: Quota = 68,803 lbs. Open Thursday through Saturday, Aug 3-5; then every other Thursday through Saturday, until Oct 31 or the quota is caught. Nearshore Season: Quota = 33,026 lbs. Opens May 1, seven days per week, inside the 40-fathom regulatory line, through the earlier of the quota being caught or October 31. During days open to All-Depth halibut fishing, All-Depth rules and regulations apply. Southern Oregon Subarea (Humbug Mountain to the OR/CA Border): Quota = 8,000 lbs. Open May 1, seven days per week, through the earlier of the quota being caught or October 31.
