CBPD release – In March the Coos Bay Police Department arrested two drivers who were under the influence of alcohol. One additional driver was arrested after police determined that they were under the influence of a controlled substance. The two alcohol related DUII arrests occurred during regular patrols. The DUII arrest involving a controlled substance occurred on a DUII enforcement overtime shift funded by Oregon Impact and ODOT. A Coos Bay Police Officer also worked a DUII enforcement shift on March 16 over the St. Patricks Day holiday weekend however no DUII arrestes were made during that operation. The Coos Bay Police Department will have additional officers out periodically throughout the month of April for DUII enforcement.
