News release from CBPD. In April the Coos Bay Police Department arrested 7 drunk drivers. 2 of those drunk drivers were arrested by an officer that was working overtime funded through a grant issued by Oregon Impact. The Coos Bay Police Department will continue to deploy additional police officers during the month of May with these same grant funds. Two Coos Bay Police Officers attended the 2015 DUII Multi-Disciplinary Impaired Driving Training Conference in April. In preparation for the legalization of marijuana in July, the officers attended training on the effects of Marijuana and how it will impact a person’s ability to operate a vehicle safely.
