Three friends who set out to do some crabbing in Tillamook Bay Saturday, April 8, found themselves in a life and death situation when their 14-foot motorboat capsized in rough waters about 2 p.m. Luckily, 53-year old Dan Shumaker of Banks was nearby with his 20-foot jet boat and saw the boat flip. He and his four companions quickly raced to the scene and pulled the three from the cold waters. They were taken to shore at Garibaldi where First Responders greeted them, gave them blankets and warmed them up. No one was injured.
