North Bend junior Jason Padgett dominated the sprints at the Jim Robinson Twilight Meet at Roseburg Saturday. Padgett won both the 100 (11.20), 200 (23.18) & ran the anchor leg on the winning 4X100 Relay team along with Nathaniel Folsom, Andrew Efraimson & Brody Justice (43.79). Marshfield swept the middle distances. Sophomore Bodey Lutes won both the 400 (49.82) & the 800 (1:56.66), while senior Alexander Garcia Silver took the 1500 (4:02.76). North Bend went 1-3 in the Javelin. Senior Keegan Young (167-4) won, and classmate Henry Hood (155-1) was third. Bulldog senior Brody Justice won the Pole Vault (14-0), while two Pirates followed, junior Danner Wilson (14-0) second & junior Jonathon Parks (13-6) third. On the girl’s side, Marshfield senior Kate Miles won the Javelin (116-0), while junior Daphne Scriver was second in the Shot Put (35-11) and third in the Discus (111-9). North Bend juniors Abby Woodruff (10-6) & Roxy Day (9-0) were second & third in the Pole Vault. North Bend’s boys were third (58) in the 22-schools team race won by Grants Pass (83), followed by South Eugene (65) second and Marshfield (55.5) fourth. Marshfield will host a league meet on Tuesday, April 18th, first event 4 p.m. North Bend will travel to Marist Catholic Tuesday, April 18th for another league meet.

North Bend swept visiting Junction City 12-3 & 3-0 in a District 4 prep baseball doubleheader at Clyde Allen Field Friday. The Bulldogs (2-1, 6-5) are scheduled to host Cottage Grove (2-0, 4-3), Tuesday. Marshfield lost both of its games Friday at Cottage Grove 11-9 & 6-2. Senior Drake Rogers had two home runs and classmate Luke Parry added one more. The Pirates (0-3, 4-8) will step out of league next Tuesday and travel to Hidden Valley (7-3) to play the Mustangs.

North Bend swept visiting Junction City 5-4 & 17-7 in a pair of District 4 prep softball games at the Oak Street Park Fields Friday. The Bulldogs (3-0, 6-7) are scheduled to host Cottage Grove (1-1, 6-5) on Tuesday. Marshfield got a split at Cottage Grove Friday. The Lions won the opener 6-3, but the Lady Pirates took the second game 17-2 (4). Marshfield (2-1, 10-3) will host South Umpqua (8-4) Tuesday, Coos Head Field, Coos Bay.
