Marshfield’s softball team beat North Bend 11-4 in a 4A District 4 league game at the Oak Street Park Fields Tuesday. The Lady Pirates (4-2, 12-5) will play at Junction City (0-4, 7-9) Friday to open the second-half of the league season. First-place North Bend (4-1, 7-8) will host third-place Marist Catholic (3-2, 8-7).

North Bend downed Marshfield 10-4 in the latest edition of the Bay Area Rivalry at Clyde Allen Field, North Bend, Tuesday. The Bulldogs (4-1, 8-5) complete the first-half of the 4A District 4 baseball season in second place behind league leader Marist Catholic (4-0, 13-2). The Spartans play at North Bend Friday. Marshfield (0-5, 5-10) will play at Junction City (1-3, 5-7) Friday.

Coquille girls dominated a track & field meet at Bandon Tuesday. The Red Devils won with 184-points, Bandon was second with 99, followed by Marshfield (67), Myrtle Pt. (38), Gold Beach (18), and Powers (8). In the boy’s team race, Marshfield won with 89-points, Bandon second (83), followed by Gold Beach (77), Pacific (75); Myrtle Pt. (74), Coquille (30) and Powers (16). Individually for Marshfield’s boys, freshman Jaxson Stovall won the 3000 (9:52.50) and for the Pirate girls, freshman Brooklyn Reis won the 300H (1:02.55). All of the teams, plus North Bend, will compete in the 115th annual Coos Co. Meet on Friday at Marshfield.
