Warrant Arrest Hwy. 42S
CCSO release – Date / Time: April 28, 2023, at 11:00 a.m.; Case Number(s): S23-09355; Classification: Warrant arrest, Identity Theft (2) Counts, Theft I; Location: Hwy 42S milepost 11, Coquille, Oregon; Suspect(s): Derek J. Kilcoyne (27); Observant Deputy arrests wanted man after locating a suspicious vehicle parked on Hwy 42S near Coquille. On April 28th, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Deputy H. Francis observed a suspicious vehicle parked on the side of the road near milepost ten on Hwy 42S near Coquille, Oregon. The car was unoccupied and parked facing eastbound on the westbound shoulder. Deputy Francis could not locate anyone around the vehicle and had seen it parked on Hwy 42S near Lampa Lane with a red gas can on the roof earlier that day. As Deputy Francis continued towards Coquille, she noticed a man walking eastbound on the westbound shoulder. The man was identified as Derek J. Kilcoyne (27), who had two outstanding warrants for his arrest. Deputy Francis placed Mr. Kilcoyne under arrest on the warrants. During the investigation, Mr. Kilcoyne was found to be in possession of two credit cards that did not belong to him. Mr. Kilcoyne was also in possession of other paper documents which did not belong to him. Derek J. Kilcoyne was transported to the Coos County Jail, where he was released on his own recognizance. After leaving the Jail, Deputy Francis continued to follow up with the victim regarding the credit cards and paper documents revealing the items were stolen. After receiving this information, Mr. Kilcoyne will be referred to the Coos County District Attorney’s Office on the additional charges of theft I, and two counts of identity theft.
