Southwestern Oregon’s softball team split an NWAC doubleheader with Mt. Hood Tuesday at Gresham. The Lakers are in first place (23-1, 39-3) in the NWAC South, and the Saints are in second place (19-4, 31-7). SWOCC won the opener 4-0, but Mt. Hood took the second game 9-2 snapping a 31-game Southwestern winning streak. Four games remain in the regular season beginning Friday, verses Centralia at Coos Bay, noon & 2 p.m.
