South Coos opened its American Legion league season with a doubleheader sweep of visiting Three Rivers on Monday at the MHS Field, Coos Bay, 7-5 & 9-6. On Saturday, South Coos split with Brookings losing the first game 10-0, but won the second 8-7. It will be the Battle of the Bay on Thursday, June 22, at Clyde Allen Field, North Bend. South Coos (5-2, 2-0) takes on North Coos at 5 & 7 p.m.
