DUII at ODNRA
CCSO release – Date / Time: June 23rd, 2023, around 5:33 pm; Case Number(s): 202300019701; Classification: Driving Under the Influence; Location: Oregon Dunes, Dune 10; Suspect(s): Chad Revec (51). 51-year-old man arrested for DUII after wrecking his vehicle during UTV takeover. On June 23rd, 2023, around 5:33 pm, Patrol Deputy M.R. Smith responded to an end-over-end crash on Dune 10. Deputy Smith and assisting Forest Service Officers met with the driver of the vehicle, identified as Chad Revec (51). Deputy Smith observed obvious signs of impairment shown by Mr. Revec. Mr. Revec refused all medical attention at the time and consented to Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFST). Before completing the tests, Mr. Revec was transported to Bay Area Hospital for treatment. After the investigation, Mr. Revec was cited for Driving under the influence of intoxicants and remained in the care of Bay Area Hospital. UTV takeover is a fantastic event and brings many people to our beautiful area. However, your Sheriff’s Office must remind the community not to drive if you have consumed alcohol during the hours leading up to driving. Mr. Revec is lucky that a hospital visit and a criminal citation are all that happened during this event. Thank you, Deputy Smith, and the assisting Forest Service Officers.

DUII/Hit & Run, Seven Devils Rd.
CCSO release – Date / Time: June 22nd at 1:00 a.m.; Case Number(s): Classification: DUII / Hit and Run / Felon in possession of a firearm / unlawful possession of psilocybin / unlawful possession of a short-barreled rifle. Location: 20023-00019546; Suspect(s): Jesse M. Dornath (29); Hit and run crash on Seven Devils ends with Bandon man’s arrest on several charges. On June 23, 2023, at 1:00 a.m. the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a 911 call of a hit and run near the intersection of Randolph Road and Seven Devils Road, just North of Bandon. Bandon Police along with Deputies Starr and Davis responded. Bandon Police was able to locate the suspect vehicle which had subsequently crashed. Det. Davis investigated the incident. Det. Davis learned the driver of the crashed vehicle was Jesse M. Dornath (29) of Bandon. Mr. Dornath admitted to drinking alcohol and eating psilocybin mushrooms. Mr. Dornath also stated he had a converted short-barrel rifle inside his vehicle. After an investigation, Mr. Dornath was arrested on the charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants, hit and run with property damage, and felon in possession of a firearm. Mr. Dornath is being referred on additional charges of unlawful possession of psilocybin and unlawful possession of a short-barreled rifle.

CCSO release – Date / Time: June 22nd, 2023 at 10:00 a.m.; Case Number(s): 2023-00019513; Classification: Criminal Mischief I / Criminal Trespass I / Probation Violation; Location: I Dock, Charleston Boat Basin; Suspect(s): Pricilla L. Koester (50); A woman wearing no clothes was arrested in the Charleston Boat Basin after damaging electrical equipment. On June 22, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a 911 call of a woman wearing no clothes and ripping up machinery inside Pacific Seafood in the Charleston Boat Basin. Sgt. Slater and Deputy Francis responded to the area, and Deputy Francis located the woman, Pricilla L. Koester (50), on I – Dock, who was now wearing only a coat. Deputy Francis investigated, learning that Pricilla had trespassed on a vessel on I – Dock and destroyed an electrical docking post owned by the Port of Coos Bay valued at $1,600. Dispatch also advised Pricilla was on supervised probation with the Coos County Community Corrections Division. After an investigation, Pricilla L. Koester (50) was arrested for criminal mischief I, criminal trespass I, and probation violation. Pricilla was transported to the Coos County Jail, where she was booked and remains in custody.

Hit & Run Finley Loop, Coquille
CCSO release – Date / Time: June 24th, 2023, around 11:20 pm; Case Number(s): 202300019855; Classification: Hit and Run-Property Damage, Improper use of 911; Location: Finley Loop, Coquille; Suspect(s): Christopher Cook (38). Coos County man calls 911, gets arrested for Hit and Run and Improper use of 911. On June 24th, 2023, around 11:20 pm, the Coos County Dispatch Center received a 911 call from Christopher Cook (38) of Coos County, stating that a vehicle had blocked him in a parking lot on Finley Loop, just outside of Coquille. Detective B. Davis responded to the area. Detective Davis noted that Mr. Cook and another individual were parked in a large area where either vehicle could freely maneuver. During the investigation, it was learned that Mr. Cook had backed into the victim’s car during a verbal dispute which caused physical damage. Detective Davis attempted to have the parties exchange insurance information and resolve the issue, but Mr. Cook refused. Mr. Cook was arrested and transported to the Coos County Jail for Hit and Run and Improper use of 911. Mr. Cook was released with a promise to appear in court under Senate Bill 48.

Warrant Service, Lakeside
CCSO release – Date / Time: June 25th, 2023, around 4:12 pm; Case Number(s): 202300019894; Classification: Warrant Service; Location: Lakeside Area; Suspect(s): Derek Roberts (43); 43-year-old man arrested in Lakeside on a Douglas County Parole warrant. On June 25th, 2023, around 4:12 pm, Coos County Dispatch received a call requesting a welfare check be done at a residence in Lakeside. It was believed that Derek Roberts (43) was at the home, and his Parole conditions prohibited him from being there. Deputy Z. Smith arrived at the residence and contacted Mr. Roberts. After finishing checking on his immediate welfare, Deputy Smith confirmed an active warrant for Mr. Roberts arrest out of Douglas County for a Parole a violation. Deputy Smith placed Mr. Roberts under arrest and he was transported to the Coos County Jail where he was booked.
