American Legion Baseball – NC lost two games to Roseburg Pepsi on 6/21. 12-2 and 12-2. NC gave up 8 runs in the first inning of game 1 and 4 runs in the first inning of game 2 and could not climb back into either ball game. Drakkar Funk has two hits on the day and NC pitched 9 different players on the day. NC sweeps SC on 6/22. Carter Brock and Walker Huntley provided the pitching punch in game 1. Josh Sullivan had two doubles in game 1 and scored in the bottom of the 8th scoring from first base on an rbi double down the left field line by Sam Mickelson. Joshio Steven also had two hits and Carter Brock had a double. 6-5. Game 2 Joshio Stevens pitched 6 complete innings striking out ten. Teagan Anderson took over in the 7th. Jake Sproul advanced to first on an error. Johnny Calvert walked. Both runners advanced on a wild pitch putting the tying run on 3rd and the winning run on 2nd. Nick Johnson lofted a shallow fly ball in to right field, Jackson Swanson ranged left to catch it and then righted himself to throw Jake Sproul out at home plate to complete the double play. Calvert advanced to third on the play. Teagan Anderson then struck out Logan Shipman on a full count to end the game. NC scored 6 runs in the 2nd on a leadoff walk to Hunter Osuna followed by singles from Weston Moffitt, Rocky Johnson and Josh Sullivan. Sam Mickelson reached on an error and scored and Carter Brock reached on a walk. Joshio Stevens provided 2 rbis in the inning while Walker huntley added 1. Aryan Wright hit a solo home run in the 4th. NC won 7-6.
