ODOT release, Sunday, July 2, 2023, 7:08 p.m. – ODOT: Valley, No. Coast: U.S. 101 may be closed all Sunday night at milepost 157 due to a wildfire and firefighting activity in the area around Governor Patterson State Park, just south of Waldport. It may be possible to occasionally reopen the highway to a single flagged lane, depending on the firefighting needs and situation, so it you may wish to expect closure and plan for that. OR 34 remains open from U.S. 101 in Waldport to Philomath, Corvallis and Interstate 5. South of the fire zone, the nearest detour is OR 126 between Florence and Eugene.
