On Saturday, July 8, 2023, at approximately 4:22 P.M., the Oregon State Police responded to a single vehicle crash on Hwy-395, near milepost 53, in Umatilla County. The preliminary investigation indicated an Indian Roadmaster (MC), operated by David Paul Harrison (70) of Boise (ID), was traveling northbound when the operator failed to negotiate a curve. The motorcycle left the roadway, went airborne over an embankment and down into Camas Creek. The operator and motorcycle struck large boulders and came to rest in the creek. The operator (Harrison) was pronounced deceased on scene. OSP was assisted by the Ukiah Quick Response Team, and ODOT.
