Brief History: From the days of manually pushing hand-drawn fire engines in the 17th century to the challenges with horse-drawn steam engines in the 18th and the first motorized fire engines of the 19th century, the push-in ceremony has stood as a testament to the enduring spirit and unity of firefighters. Today’s Celebration: While modern trucks are significantly larger, the tradition continues with a twist! Come explore the new unit, witness a community wetdown, and watch as our custom Pierce Mfg Pumper is ceremoniously “pushed in” to the station, marking its induction into service.
