City of Coos Bay release – There are two vacant lots along N. Front Street between the blocks of Cedar Avenue and Date Avenue. These lots will be turned into a public parking lot that will serve the Front Street corridor. The parking lot will be constructed to capture and treat 100% of the stormwater with biofiltration devices prior to discharging to the bay. The funding for this project comes from the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality’s State Revolving Fund. The City has contracted with Knife River Materials for the construction of this project. It is anticipated that they will break ground in early September with a construction schedule extending through summer of 2024. Please pardon the dust while these improvements are occurring. Working hours will be 7AM-6PM Monday through Friday.
