A 2.8-magnitude earthquake was recorded near the southern junction of the two fault lines that run parallel with the Oregon Coast Friday, Oct. 13. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake was located west of Petrolia, CA near Cape Mendocino in Northern California. Early Monday morning a couple of “big” quakes hit the southern junction. According to the USCG, a 4.1-magnitude was recorded west of Humboldt Hill, CA, and a 4.8-magnitude occurred east of Petrolia, CA. At the other end, near the north junction, a 4.9-magnitude quake was recorded west of Port McNeill, Canada.
