New release from CEO John Chivers – On October 5, 2022, Lower Umpqua Hospital District released a statement regarding an alleged mishandling of patient cash payments. The District immediately placed the employee identified on Administrative leave while conducting the initial investigation. The District also immediately notified Law Enforcement of the alleged criminal activities. As of October 6, 2023 the employee identified in this matter has been officially charged. Arraignment is scheduled for November 7, 2023 in Douglas county. Lower Umpqua Hospital District appreciates the efforts of the Reedsport Police Department and Douglas County District Attorneys office. We look forward to the due process of law in court.
