Both Bay Area prep football teams are on the road Friday for 4A District 4 games. North Bend will head to Ashland to play the Grizzlies and the Pirates head to Hidden Valley to play the Mustangs. Both games kickoff at 7 p.m. In 3A – Siuslaw at Sisters, Brookings-Harbor at North Valley and Coquille at Douglas. 2A – Illinois Valley at Gold Beach and Bandon/Pacific at Reedsport. All kickoff at 7 p.m. In 1A6 – Elkton at Powers, 3 p.m.

Marshfield will host South Medford in a non-league volleyball match Saturday, 3 p.m., Pirate Palace. In 1A – Saturday, North Douglas at Myrtle Pt., 1:30 p.m.
OSAA VB Rankings
Marshfield will enter the OSAA 4A Volleyball playoffs as the No. 1 ranked team. The Rankings froze Thursday night with the Lady Pirates on top followed by Marist Catholic at No. 2, and North Bend at No. 5. The “Play-In” round will include Scappoose at North Bend and Baker at Cottage Grove. Marshfield will have a bye from the “Play-In” round and instead will host a “First Round” playoff match with the winner advancing to the State Tournament.

In boys’ prep soccer Thursday, 3A/2A/1A – Siuslaw/Mapleton beat visiting Crosshill Christian/Jefferson 8-0, Pacific/Bandon downed visiting Sutherlin 5-1, Gold Beach won at Douglas 3-1 and Brookings-Harbor beat visiting Illinois Valley 3-0. In girl’s 3A/2A/1A – Siuslaw wins by forfeit from La Pine 1-0, and North Valley beat visiting Coquille/Myrtle Pt. 3-0. Girl’s 4A – District 4 playoff Saturday, 5 p.m., Marshfield at Cottage Grove. In a boy’s playoff game Saturday, Junction City/Harrisburg at North Bend, Vic Adams Field, 5 p.m.
