After nearly 18-months on the job as the Superintendent of the Coos Bay School District, Dr. Charis McGaughy has resigned over health concerns. A retired administrator, Dr. Dave Novotney will serve as acting superintendent until an interim superintendent can be appointed. Dr. Novotney is the former Willamette Education Service District Superintendent at Eugene. Dr. McGaughy was hired to replace Bryan Trendell who retired.
