Warrant Service, Grinnell Ln.
CCSO release – Date / Time: February 6th 2024 11:39 p.m.; Case Number(s): 2024-00003131; Classification: Warrant Service / Escape III; Location: Grinnell Lane, Coos Bay; Suspect(s): Ricky Potter Sr. (61). A man with active warrants attempts to flee from Deputies and is found to have 3.7g of methamphetamine in his possession. On February 6th, 2024, at 11:39 p.m., the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a 911 call of a disturbance near the end of Grinnell Lane just south of Coos Bay. Deputies Z. Smith and C. Sattler responded to the location, where they contacted the involved parties. One of the subjects, Ricky Potter Sr. (61), had several valid warrants for his arrest and fled from the deputies on foot upon contact. Deputies pursued Mr. Potter Sr. into the thick brush behind the residence and ultimately had to deploy a Taser to take Mr. Potter Sr. into custody. Mr. Potter Sr. had 3.7g. of methamphetamine on him at the time of his arrest. Ricky Potter Sr. was arrested on the outstanding warrants and escape III. Mr. Potter Sr. was transported to the Coos County Jail, where he was booked and remains in custody.

Warrant Service, Coos Bay
CCSO release – Date / Time: February 7th 2024 7:27 p.m.; Case Number(s): 2024-00003212; Classification: Warrant Service; Location: Lakeshore Drive / N. Morrison Street (Coos Bay); Suspect(s): Nicholaus D. Berger; Deputy arrests a wanted subject while assisting Coos Bay Police with unrelated call for service. On February 7th, 2024, at 7:27 p.m., Deputy H. Francis responded to the intersection of Lakeshore Drive and N. Morrison Street in Coos Bay to serve as a perimeter unit for the Coos Bay Police as they attempted a K9 criminal apprehension track of a suspect who stole a vehicle. While on perimeter and unrelated to the K9 track, Deputy Francis observed a subject with outstanding warrants walk by her location. Deputy Francis contacted Nicholaus D. Berger (45), and the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center advised he had several outstanding warrants for his arrest. The warrants were confirmed, and Mr. Berger was arrested and transported to the Coos County Jail, where he was booked and remains in custody.
