Dive into a world of imagination and fun at weekly Storytime at the Library events. Join us for a morning of rhymes, songs, and captivating stories designed for young children and a parent or caregiver. It’s a wonderful opportunity to spark creativity, foster language development, and create beautiful memories together! Meet with the Mayor, Wednesday, June 19 in the Myrtlewood Room, 11:00am – 12:00pm, Come chat with the Mayor of Coos Bay at this casual gathering. Juneteenth Celebration and Block Party: African Showcase with Gansango, Wednesday, June 19 in front of Coos Bay City Hall, 5:00pm – 6:00pm, Travel to Africa to celebrate Juneteenth at a community-wide block party sponsored by the South Coast Equity Coalition! Teaching artists from Gansango Music & Dance Company perform music and dance from West Africa. This interactive performance will entertain and educate, blending contemporary and traditional dance with drumming, song and audience participation. Bring a lawn chair and a blanket to enjoy the outdoor show across the street from Coos Bay City Hall and in front of Black Market Gourmet. Stay to enjoy the Juneteenth Celebration at Black Market Gourmet. All are welcome!
