South Slough Reserve Visitor Center Closure, June 27

Charleston, OR- For safety reasons the Visitor Center will be closed for two days during new exhibit installation. The South Slough Reserve is updating their exhibits at the Visitor Center and contractors will be onsite June 27th and 28th, 2024 to complete a significant amount of the installation. During these two days the Visitor Center will be closed to the public as a safety measure due to hazards from construction in some areas. However, the public restrooms and trail system will be open during this timeframe for normal posted hours. Summer Camp activities will continue to happen on-site. If your family members are registered for camp, please follow the directions sent out by our Education Team. The new exhibition space is entering the installation stage after years of work from Reserve staff, Tribal partners, and local businesses. Exhibit installation will continue behind the scenes while the Visitor Center is open throughout the summer. We expect to welcome the public into the new exhibition space by late August.
