News release from the Coos Bay Police Dept. “On November 10, 2013 the Astoria Police Department arrested a California couple who had been traveling through Oregon while making illegal purchases using fraudulent credit cards. During the course the Astoria Police Department investigation, they learned the couple traveled through the Coos Bay/North Bend area in late October 2013 and likely made similar fraudulent purchases in our area as well. The Astoria Police Department contacted both the Coos Bay and the North Bend Police Departments to request our assistance identifying additional victims. They pointed out that many of our local businesses may not yet realize they have been victimized. On Thursday, November 14, 2013 the Astoria Police Department arrested Bradley Stay, age 34, in connection to multiple purchases made in their jurisdiction and surrounding areas with fraudulently manufactured prepaid credit cards. Their investigation also revealed that Stay had been using a forged California identification card with the name of Matthew Dunn. On Saturday, November 16, 2013 the Seaside Police Department arrested a female accomplice, 34 year old Cherice McMillian, on similar charges.
