BLM Coos Bay Office Extends Front Desk Hours, Sept. 4

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is pleased to announce extended front desk hours at the Coos Bay District Office, located at 1300 Airport Lane in North Bend. Beginning Monday, September 8th, the information/permitting desk will be open to the public from 7:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Monday hours will remain on the current schedule of 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. During these open hours, BLM staff are available to provide forest product permits, recreation brochures, and a wide-variety of information on local recreation and sightseeing opportunities. “Our front desk is often the public’s first encounter with the BLM, so we want to make these interactions as helpful and convenient as possible,” said Patty Burke, BLM Coos Bay District Manager. “With these extended hours, we’re able to expand a valued service to the local community and further encourage the public to get out and enjoy their public lands!” The BLM’s Coos Bay District manages 325,000 acres of public lands in the Coast Range of southwestern Oregon, including 12 miles of coastline; nine campgrounds; 350 miles of fishable forest streams; 700 acres of coastal marshlands and estuaries; and over 1,500 miles of forest roads and trails.
