The latest newsletter from the Oregon Employment Department titled “South Coast Labor Trends” reports “Coos County payroll employment fell by 310 jobs in July. Most of the decrease was due to a seasonally expected loss of 560 jobs in local government education.” During the year, payroll employment6 fell by 110 jobs. Curry Co. payroll fell by 80 jobs in July. However, since July 2013, Curry Co. has gained 60 total payroll jobs.
