Marshfield’s boys were sixth overall in a varsity 5K race for 1A, 2A, 3A & 4A teams at the Northwest Classic, Lane Community College in Eugene Saturday. Seventeen teams competed, and 124 runners finished the course. Seth Campbell of Siuslaw was the overall winner (16:31) Marshfield’s Sawyer Heckard was fourth (16:54), while Colby Gillett was 11th (17:34), followed by 28 Dakota Pittullo (18:25), 56 John Hampton (19:31), and 59 Cody Harkins (19:39).
FWL vb
Marshfield beat visiting Siuslaw 3-0 (25-8, 25-14, 25-22) Tuesday night in Coos Bay in a 4A Far West League opener for both teams. Hailee Woolsey led the Lady Pirates with ten kills, while Carli Clarkson recorded eight. North Bend lost to visiting South Umpqua 3-2 (20-25, 25-18, 25-17, 20-25, 15-10). In the only other FWL match, Douglas downed visiting Brookings-Harbor 3-0.

In a Bay Area Rivalry boys’ soccer match at Vic Adams Field in North Bend Tuesday night, the Bulldogs bettered the visiting Pirates 6-0. North Bend also took the girls’ match over Marshfield, 7-0.
