Coos Co. payroll employment rose by 130 jobs in August according to the latest news letter “South Coast Labor Trends,” from the Oregon Department of Employment. The report goes on to state, “transportation, warehousing, and utilities; and professional and business serives both added 40 jobs during the month. Private educational and health services employment increased by 30 jobs in August. Leisure and hospitality likely reached its season peak employment, gaining 20 jobs to reach a total of 2,610.” Over the year, payroll employment has fallen by fifty-jobs. “Curry County’s payroll employment climbed by 40 jobs in August. Leisure and hospitality (+30) and construction (+20) had the largest estimated employement gains during the month. Government was unchanged.”
