The 2013 Oregon men’s and women’s track and field recruiting classes were each ranked No. 1 by Track and Field News marking just the sixth time a school has earned top rankings on both the men’s and women’s sides. The Ducks earned dual top classes in 2010 as well, and is the first program to receive top rankings twice. The 2014 men’s class was highlighted by five Track and Field News High School All-Americans: Devon Allen (hurdles), Marcus Chambers (sprints), Edward Cheserek (distance), Cullen Prena (throws) and Cole Walsh (pole vault). No other school in the nation brought in more than two. Track and Field News calls the Oregon men’s class “jaw dropping” and among the “best ever seen”. For the women, Oregon added three High School All-Americans in Haley Crouser (javelin), MaryBeth Sant (sprints) and Sasha Wallace (hurdles). Duke is the only other school to match that number. It is the third time the women have earned a No. 1 ranking, doing so in 2010 and 2005.
