North Bend claimed the 2014 Far West League football title with a 44-14 Bay Area Rivalry win at Marshfield in Coos Bay Friday night. The Bulldogs (5-0, 8-0) complete a perfect season and will now have a bye from the Play-In round of the upcoming OSAA playoffs. Marshfield (4-1, 6-2) finishes in second place and will host Siuslaw in a home playoff game Friday night in Coos Bay. In other final FWL games, fourth place Siuslaw (2-3, 5-3) beat visiting Brookings-Harbor (1-4, 1-7) 40-7, and third place South Umpqua (3-2, 6-2) won at home over Douglas (0-5, 0-8), 52-0.

4A Football playoffs
Far West League champion North Bend (9-0) has a bye from the Play In round of the OSAA football playoffs. The Bulldogs are ranked second in the final 4A OSAA Power Ranking Poll behind No. 1 Gladstone. Second place Marshfield (6-2), with a power ranking of 14, will host fourth place Siuslaw (5-3) (P/R 16) Friday night, 7 p.m. Also Friday night in Tri-City, FWL third place South Umpqua (6-2) (P/R 9) will host Ontario (3-5) (P/R 21).

Douglas of the Far West League was eliminated from 4A OSAA volleyball playoffs with a 3-0 loss at Sutherlin Saturday. Tillamook plays at Siuslaw tonight in Florence in another Play-In match. Marshfield had a bye and will wait for tonight’s matches to find out who their opponent will be for a playoff match in Coos Bay Saturday night.
