A 15-year old Salem male was taken into custody by Salem Police officers for slashing multiple vehicle tires in south Salem during the later evening hours of October 31 and early morning hours of November 1. There have been at least twenty victims identified thus far in the tire slashings that appear to have occurred in the area roughly bordered by Sunnyside Rd, Neahkahnie St, Cinammon Hill and Fairway Dr SE. Because the teen appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and/or narcotics, he was transported to Salem Hospital by ambulance. Investigators believe there may have been other suspects involved in these incidents and are asking for anyone with information to contact the Salem Police Department. Any further victims are asked to make a report to the department on the non-emergency line at 503-588-6123. The investigation is continuing.
