Burglar Caught, Nov. 6

News release from the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. On the afternoon of 11-04-14 at 3:39 PM a Coos County Sheriff’s Deputy took a report of stolen license plates off of a vehicle on Grinnell Lane in the Barview area, south of Coos Bay. Fifty-four year old, Ida Jones of Coos Bay reported that over the night some person had stolen license plates off her 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser. On 11-04-14 at about 6:02 PM, Coos Bay Police Officers stopped a vehicle in Coos Bay on South Broadway near Anderson that had the stolen license plates on it. It was being driven by 30 year old Brandon Dorsey of Coos Bay. Coos Bay Officers arrested him for Theft 3 and he was transported to the Coos County Jail. At 7:49 PM, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 66305 Kruse Road east of Coos Bay to a report of a burglary where 2 laptop computers had been taken. After taking the burglary report the deputy recalled the previous incident where he had assisted Coos Bay Officers in the arrest of Brandon Dorsey and recalled similar property being in Mr. Dorsey’s vehicle. Mr. Dorsey happens to live in the same general area where the burglary occurred. As the result of the investigation, Brandon Lee Dorsey, was also arrested for Burglary I and Theft I by the Coos County Sheriff’s Office. Brandon Dorsey was transported and lodged at the Coos County jail where he is being held in lieu of $125,000.00 bail.
