North Marion eliminated North Bend from the 4A boys’ soccer playoffs Saturday night with a 2-1 win over the visiting Bulldogs. North Bend ends the season with a 14-1-1 record.

Marshfield’s volleyball team finished fifth at the OSAA 4A state championships Saturday at Lane Community College in Eugene. The Lady Pirates won their opener over Valley Catholic 3-0 Friday afternoon, but fell to Banks in the semi-finals 3-0 Friday night. On Saturday, playing for third or fifth place, Marshfield lost to Crook Co. 3-0 to end the Pirates’ season at 23-4. Marshfield junior Hailee Woolsey was named to the All Tourney Team.

North Bend’s football team rolled into the OSAA 4A quarterfinal playoff round with a 71-22 thrashing of visiting La Grande Friday night at Vic Adams Field. The Bulldogs will next host fellow Far West League member South Umpqua (8-2) Friday, 7 p.m., which advanced with a 57-14 win at Philomath Saturday. North Bend (9-0) won the first meeting between the two, 59-32, back on Oct. 10 at Vic Adams Field. Mazama eliminated Siuslaw from the playoffs with a 42-12 win at Klamath Falls Saturday.
