Booster Clubs
The Marshfield and North Bend booster clubs meet today at noon. The Bulldog backers will gather at the high school’s Hall of Champions, while the Pirate supporters meet at Abby’s Pizza in Coos Bay. Both meetings are open to those interested in local high school athletics.

In the battle of the unbeatens in the 4A Far West League boys’ basketball race Tuesday night, North Bend downed Marshfield 51-46 in Coos Bay in round four, of ten, league games. The top-ranked Bulldogs improve to 4-0, 15-0, while the Pirates slip one game back into second place at 3-1, 13-5. In another FWL game, Brookings Harbor (2-2, 5-13) upset South Umpqua (2-2, 12-5) at Tri City, and Siuslaw (1-3, 4-9) beat visiting Douglas (0-4, 5-11) 71-59..

Marshfield downed visiting North Bend 49-45 in a girl’s 4A Far West League game in Coos Bay Tuesday night. The Lady Pirates improve to 2-2, 10-8, while the Bulldogs fall to 1-3, 7-8. Brookings-Harbor leads the league after four rounds. The Bruins (4-0, 12-3) won at South Umpqua (0-4, 1-16) 68-10, and Douglas (4-0, 11-5) is keeping pace with a 58-42 win at Siuslaw (1-3, 3-11) .
