A first half offensive explosion from junior Jamie Weisner helped carry the No. 7/7 Oregon State women’s basketball team to a 82-64 win over UCLA Monday evening at Gill Coliseum in Corvallis. Weisner finished with 18 points, all of which came in the first half, as she became the 18th player in Oregon State history to reach the 1,000 career point mark. Weisner finished the game shooting 5-for-11 from the field, 3-for-5 from three-point range and 5-for-5 from the free throw line to lead five Beavers in double-figures. She also tallied seven rebounds. The Beavers (20-1, 10-0) head north this week, as they take on Washington Friday in Seattle. Tip is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Pac-12 Networks.

The Oregon women’s basketball team continued to show signs of progress Monday, building on the first conference home victory of the Kelly Graves era by completing the first sweep of USC and UCLA since 2007, with a 63-57 victory over the Women of Troy in Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene. The Ducks (10-11, 3-7 Pac-12) play at Washington State on Friday (5 p.m., Pac-12 Networks).
