Vehicles impounded by Troopers for the Oregon State Police Feb. 13 – 11:15 a.m., Hwy. 240 & Marion Ave., North Bend, white Chevrolet MET stopped for speed violation. Twenty-three year old Brittany Nicole Carson, Coos Bay, found to be Driving While Suspended and Driving Uninsured. “She was issued several violation citations and a criminal citation for Failure to Carry Operator’s License. Vehicle impounded.” Feb. 14 – red Toyota pickup truck stopped for equipment violation on Hwy. 240, mp 2.2 eastbound, North Bend. Fifty-one year old Thomas Lee Parnell, Coos Bay, “found to be driving uninsured. Vehicle impounded.” 12:58 p.m., Hwy. 101, mp 239, southbound, Coos Bay, 64-year old Donald Paul Lane, Coos Bay, “stopped for fail to wear seatbelt, found to be driving while suspended and uninsured. He was issued several violation citations and a criminal citation for Fail to Carry Operator’s Licnese.” Red Isuzu UNS impounded. Feb. 15 – 6:52 a.m., Hwy. 101, mp 239 northbound Coos Bay, 53-year old Lieren R. Cavanaugh, Coos Bay, “stopped for traffic violation, found to be driving uninsured.. She was issued a criminal citation for Giving False Information Regarding Liability Insurance.” Green Subaru LEG impounded. Feb. 16 – 9:11 a.m., Hwy. 42, mp 11, green Saturn SL “stopped for a violation was towed to impound after an investigation revealed the operator was uninsured and no ops.” Twenty-nine year old Jeffrey Michael Nagro, Sun City, OR, cited. 10:35 a.m., a blue Ford Aero “stopped for violations was towed and impounded when an investigation revealed that the operator was driving uninsured and driving while suspended.” Fifty-nine year old Vladislav Surma, Coos Bay, owner. 11:47 a.m., black Toyota SWD “stopped for equipment violations was towed to impounded when an investigation revealed that the operator was driving outside restrictions (no ops) and driving uninsured.” Twenty-two year old Sidney Wilbur, North Bend, cited. Feb. 18 – 7:38 a.m., a silver/aluminum Ford Ranger was “stopped for expired tags and was towed and impounded,” when it was discovered that 47-year old Thomas Gene Ross, Coos Bay, was driving while suspended and uninsured. 11:09 p.m., Hwy. 101 & Ingersoll, Coos Bay, pewter Honda Accord “stopped a vehicle for a violation.” Thirty-nine year old Aaron Damion McKinley, Coos Bay, “had a suspended driver license.” The vehicle was impounded.
DUII
A Dallas, OR woman was arrested and charged with DUII following a single-vehicle non-injury accident on Hwy. 101, mp 206 southbound, north of Gardiner. According to an OSP report, “the driver of a southbound Acura Integra left the shoulder of the southbound lane leaving the vehicle balancing on the edge of a steep embankment.” Thirty-six year old Maura Helena Olsson “showed signs and symptoms of impairment.” She failed a Field Sobriety Test and was transported to Reedsport PD for a breath sample. She was issued criminal citations for DUII, Reckless Driving and two-counts of Reckless Endangerment. There were two boys in the vehicle, ages 8 & 10. “She was held in the Reedsport Jail until her spouse arrived to pick her and their sons.”
Burglary to Park Booth
The Ranger’s Booth at Tugman State Park, north of Lakeside, was broken into. According to an OSP report, “I was dispatched to a theft that occurred sometime the previous night at the Ranger’s booth at Tugman State Park. The suspect made entry by prying open a window, and stole a safe and approximately $100 in change, as well opened someone’s mail. The suspect left behind a large knife, which had initials ‘M.W.”
