North Bend High School students dominated the Southwestern Oregon Community College Math Competition Thursday, April 2, on the college’s Coos Bay campus. NBHS winners: Kaleb Messner, Timothy Shupe, Chephren Sinko, Brandon Toribio, Stewart Lyons, James Farlow, Hannah Shupe, Alex Cheslock, Daniel Prater, Kadie Forderer and Abby Knight. Students who qualified for the State Math Competition at the UO are: Kaleb Messner: Geometry 1st place; Timothy Shupe: Geometry 1st place; Brandon Toribio: Pre-Calculus 1st place; James Farlow: Algebra II 1st place; Hannah Shupe: Algebra II 2nd place. Other place winner was Stewart Lyons: Calculus 3rd place.
