MHS Math Team at SWOCC, April 7

Congratulations to the Marshfield Pirate Math Team for their performance at the regional math competition held at Southwestern College on Thursday, April 2. Eight high schools were represented from the south coast area bringing the top 80 – 90 math students from our region. Results are listed below: Pre-Algebra, Meg Holt, 3rd; Pre-Algebra, Mark Larsen, 6th; Algebra I, Matthew Golder, 3rd; Algebra I, Alexander Kliewer, 4th; Algebra II, Diana Chavez, 3rd; Algebra II, Katherine Paquette, 4th; Pre-Calculus, Wan Yu Liao, 1st (qualifies for state @ U of O); Pre-Calculus, Natalino Lovecchio, 4th; Calculus, Crew Berggren, Tie – 3rd; Calculus, Lanli Yu, Tie – 3rd. Coach Tim Wall says a total of about 200 students competed in all competitions, “these MHS students represented us very well. Tell them “great job” when you get a chance.”
