Payroll employment rose by 100 jobs in Coos County and was unchanged in Curry County in February according to the April edition of South Coast Labor Trends from the Oregon Employment Dept. “In Coos County, local government education rose by 190, the largest contributor to the overall gain.” Over the year, Coos County has gained 220 payroll jobs, for a gain of 1.0 percent. Curry Co. added 20 jobs in accommodation and food services in February, but most other sectors showed little change over the month. “Over the year, payroll employment has fallen by 0.3 percent, or down by 20 jobs over the past 12 months.”
