City of Coos Bay news release. Over the years, owners of (pet?) domesticated geese have released them into the Mingus Park Pond. These geese will on occasion display aggressive behavior toward park visitors. The City has received reports of people being bitten. Having received several recent complaints about the behavior of the geese, the City Council considered the issue at their April 21, 2015 meeting. The Council requested additional information be gathered about the geese in Mingus Park prior to making a decision.
