North Bend & Marshfield activities, May 15

NBHS Band
The North Bend High School Band won the 2015 OSAA 4A Band Division at the State Band Championships at Oregon State University in Corvallis Wednesday, May 13. Scappoose took second, followed by Seaside, Douglas and Philomath. It’s the second straight title for the Bulldogs.

MHS Youth Football Camp
END OF YEAR Youth Football Camp 2015: This camp is May 26-29, 2015 after school at Pete Susick Stadium. Girls and Boys grades 1st -8th are welcome to attend. Kids from Coos Bay Schools, Myrtle Point, Coquille, Bandon, Reedsport and North Bend are welcome! Director: Josh Line, Marshfield Head Football Coach, joshl@coos-bay.k12.or.us Cost: $30.00 per camper (Includes T-Shirt at the completion of the camp)-Two or more campers from the same family will be $25.00 per camper.

Marshfield and Douglas play for the 2015 Far West League softball title today in Winston. The Pirates (13-0, 19-5) need to win one of the two games, while the Trojans (12-1, 18-3) need both to claim the championship. Both games will be broadcast on FM 91.3 KMHS, and streamed over the radio station’s Internet website. The first game is at 3 p.m. and the second 5 p.m. Also today, Siuslaw is at North Bend, and So. Umpqua travels to Brookings-Harbor. In FWL baseball doubleheaders, North Bend can wrap up its second straight league title at Siuslaw in Florence today, and Douglas plays at third-place Marshfield, while Brookings-Harbor travels to second place South Umpqua in Tri City.
