Coos Bay Public Library exhibits works by local photographer Suzy Piatt during the month of May. Piatt is a native Oregonian who moved to the Pacific Northwest Coast soon after high school, fell in love with it, and never left. She has been involved with photography for the past 3 years, especially enjoying landscapes, flowers, boats, and macros. She is a member of the Oregon Coast Photographer’s Association and has participated in several photography displays. Suzy spent years as a homemaker, and then attended Southwestern Oregon Community College when her two children were older. She achieved a degree in Business, worked for SWOCC for 23 years in the Library, and is now retired. Suzy loves living by the ocean and bay, and hopes to represent in her photos of ocean sunsets, sunrises, and boats, in a small way, the greatness of this area. The artist will hold a public reception on Monday, May 18th from 4:00-6:30 p.m. in the library’s Cedar Room. For more information call 541.269.1101.
