Elliot State Forest Fatality, June 17

News release from the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. On June 14th at approximately 6:43PM a citizen contacted the Coos County Sheriff’s Office to report a missing person who had been last seen in the Elk Horn Ranch area located in the Elliot State Forest, east of Lakeside, Oregon the night before on June 13th. Patrol Deputies from the Coos County Sheriff’s Office began searching the roads for the subject’s Black Suzuki Samurai vehicle that night but found nothing. On the morning of 06/15/15 the Sheriff’s Office began a Search and Rescue Call out operation to organize a search for the missing person identified as Jeoffry T. Hall, 40 YOA of North Bend. While en-route to the search area, Law Enforcement Officers were advised Mr. Hall had been located by private citizens that had been out searching also. Mr. Hall had been located near his vehicle at the bottom of a ravine off the end of Elk Horn Road. Mr. Hall was deceased. An investigation revealed Mr. Hall had been involved in a single vehicle traffic crash near the Elk Horn Campground. His vehicle traveled down a short embankment and rolled over. Mr. Hall was ejected from the vehicle and subsequently died from injuries sustained from the crash. Mr. Hall was removed from the location by Nelson’s Mortuary and the vehicle he had been operating was removed by Mast Brothers Towing.
