The Coos County Master Food Preservers will once again host a booth at this year’s Coos County Fair. Located near the Culinary and Photography departments in the Oaks Pavilion building, the Food Preservers booth will have volunteers on hand to answer your food safety and preservation questions. Fairgoers can learn about, and sign up for, upcoming workshops such as Dehydrating, Tuna Canning and Harvest Breads. A variety of food preservation materials – publications and books – will be available for purchase, along with Clear-jel thickener, parchment and more. The MFP booth will be staffed from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. We’re excited this year to offer a pressure canner as a drawing prize. Tickets can be purchased at the booth and the winner will be notified after fair. So stop by and get acquainted with this friendly group of dedicated volunteers, and learn more about what they can do to help you.
