Adult Vaccines Available!, Aug. 27

News release from Coos Health & Wellness. Pregnant Women: Vaccines are an important component of a healthy pregnancy. Women should be up-to-date on their vaccines before becoming pregnant, and should receive vaccines against both whooping cough (pertussis) and the flu during pregnancy. These vaccines not only protect the mother by preventing illnesses and complications, but also pass on vaccine protection to her unborn child. Adults: All adults should get vaccines to protect their health. Immunization is especially important for older adults and for adults with chronic conditions such as asthma, lung disease, diabetes or heart disease. All adults should get the flu vaccine each year and Tdap vaccine to protect against whooping cough (pertussis), tetanus, and diphtheria. Coos Health & Wellness is able to bill Oregon Health Plan (WOAH), Pacific Source, Blue Cross/Blue shield, Providence, ODS/MODA, and Lifewise. For more information or to schedule an appointment for child or adult vaccinations, please call 541-751-2400. Appointments are available as soon as one working day.
