The No. 17 Oregon men’s basketball team lost 96-83 to California, the Ducks’ 12th straight loss to the Golden Bears and 15th in a row to Cal coach Mike Montgomery. Because of the Pac-12’s schedule rotation, Oregon won’t have to worry about those streaks the rest of this season, unless the two meet in the conference tournament — but that doesn’t mean the Ducks don’t have pressing concerns. Another trend that continued Thursday was spotty UO defense. After starting this season 13-0, and not allowing any one opponent to shoot better than .472, Oregon has lost back-to-back games in which Colorado shot .564 and Cal shot .525.

Eric Moreland recorded his 16th career double-double, posting 17 points and 15 rebounds as Oregon State took down Stanford, 81-72 on Thursday night at Gill Coliseum. Moreland showed why he is a matchup nightmare for opposing teams, making his impact felt on both sides of the ball. His performance marked the first time the big man has recorded a double-double this season since his return from suspension on Jan. 2 against Colorado. He also added four blocks and four assists for the Beavers. Roberto Nelson led Oregon State (9-6, 1-2 Pac-12) in the scoring column, finishing with 21 points and five rebounds on 6-of-12 shooting from the floor. The senior was also perfect from the line, hitting all seven of his attempts.
