Oregon’s volleyball team improved to 4-0 with a five-set win at George Washington University in Washington D.C. Tuesday. The Ducks won 20-25, 22-25, 25-16, 25-15, 15-11. Oregon will travel to Austin Texas for matches against Florida and Nebraska, a pair of team who are tied at No. 4 in the AVCA Coaches’ Poll. The Ducks will play Florida, Friday at 1 p.m. CT and Nebraska, Saturday at 3 p.m. CT. Both matches will be televised on the longhorn network.

Holly Cavalluzzo and Kristiane Width went 1-2 in the individual races and the Oregon State cross country team opened the 2015 season with victories over Portland and Portland State on Tuesday at the Westmoreland Quintet. Cavalluzzo finished the 5,000-meter Westmoreland Park course in 17 minutes, 45 seconds for her first career dual-meet win. Width was second in 18:01 and Kira Kelly took fourth in 18:14. It was the first race in two seasons for Width and Kelly, both of whom redshirted in 2014. The team scores were OSU 20, Portland 38 and OSU 15, Portland State 40. The Beavers return to action on Saturday, Sept. 19, at the Sundodger Invitational. Hosted by the University of Washington, the meet starts at 9 a.m. at Lincoln Park in Seattle.
