Recent Acquisitions to the Permanent Collection on View at Coos Art Museum, Oct. 8

From October 9 through December 5, 2015, Coos Art Museum will be presenting an exhibition of recent acquisitions to its Permanent Collection. The works acquired from 2013 through 2015 add depth and variety to the Museum’s Permanent Collection. Among the exhibited works will be “Drift: Driftwood 4” by Portland artist Michael Brophy, acquired through a Ford Family Foundation grant administered by the Oregon Arts Commission, “Ready and Waitin’ in Charleston” by Coos Bay artist Pat Snyder, acquired through donation, and “Child’s Play” by California artist Dani Dodge, acquired by a gift from the artist. The Coos Art Museum’s Permanent Collection now consists of 586 artworks and is growing through donations and occasional purchases. The collection includes many original works by notable Pacific Northwest artists and fine art prints by artists with a national or international reputation.
