News release from CBPD. In September officers with the Coos Bay Police Department arrested three drunk drivers during routine traffic patrol. It was determined that in two of the three incidents, the drunk driver had crashed their vehicle. The number of crashes for the month was down when compared to August statistics. In September the Coos Bay Police investigated 44 crashes compared to 70 crashes during August. The Coos Bay Police Department, will continue to deploy additional police officers for DUII patrols during the month of October. Expect to see additional DUII patrols during weekends and Holidays.
