Oregon Authors Day, Oct. 9

The Coos History Museum is proud to host a more than a dozen writers on Saturday, October 10. The free event is scheduled from 10 a.m to 3 p.m. at the new museum on the Coos Bay waterfront, 1210 North Front Street. Travel writer Vernelle J Judy joins Oregon Coast bridge experts Judy Fleagle and Ray Allen to help us understand the terrain and character of the South Coast. Younger readers are sure to enjoy mystery and youth adventure writer Jonathan Thomas Stratman and fantasy and fiction author James Boyle. Carol Dare’s historical fiction makes a nice compliment to historians Bill Mast, Joe R. Blakely, Lionel Yost, Hannah Contino, Andie Jensen, Steven Woods. And faith-based writers Larry Sparks and Gregory Zschomler add an important dimension. The event is free and open to the public. You’ll have a chance to meet the authors, have your copies signed, and purchase several brand-new titles. For more, check the museum website, cooshistory.org, or call the museum at (541) 756-6320.
